Securing technological capabilities, one of the necessary conditions for business growth, has a major impact on corporate growth rates. However, many entrepreneurs currently face difficulties due to a lack of information on how to obtain and maintain intellectual property rights.

To support these entrepreneurs, Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Startup Support Center (Director Professor Kwon Dae-gyu) recently signed agreements with the Jeonbuk Intellectual Property Center, the Gwangju Intellectual Property Center, the Jeonnam Intellectual Property Center, the Jeju Intellectual Property Center, and others, and has begun building a foundation for successful technology startups by regional prospective entrepreneurs.

Through this agreement, the institutions agreed to promote support for companies' acquisition of technological capabilities and for securing intellectual property rights for innovative technologies. This includes identifying and supporting entrepreneurs with innovative technologies, jointly coordinating and operating startup support programs, personnel exchanges, and jointly identifying success cases to disseminate research outcomes.

They will also provide educational programs for prospective entrepreneurs on entrepreneurship, creation of intellectual property rights, maintenance of intellectual property rights, Technology Transfer, technology commercialization, and securing technology funding. In addition, they will offer specialized support for securing technological capabilities through direct assistance for obtaining intellectual property rights.

In particular, by expanding the scope of cooperation beyond the Jeonbuk region to the Honam area, the agreement is expected to strengthen the support system for entrepreneurs and provide an opportunity to enhance JBNU's startup support capacity in the Honam region.

Kwon Dae-gyu, Director of the Startup Support Center, said, 'We will provide generous support to identify companies that have secured excellent technologies in the region by offering various programs on the importance of securing intellectual property rights and on utilizing intellectual property rights for technology commercialization.'
