The program was launched to promote the establishment of standard research laboratories within institutions and to strengthen internal safety management capabilities by providing financial support for improvements to the safety environment and infrastructure of biosafety research facilities.

Through this selection, the Department of Horticulture plans to establish its tissue culture laboratory as a biosafety standard-model research facility by improving equipment and facilities.

Professor Beom-chang Kang said, 'I am pleased that, through this project selection, students will be able to conduct experiments in a safe research environment,' adding, 'I am grateful to the faculty members of the Department of Horticulture and the staff of the Division of Research Support for their great assistance in securing this project. Through the project, we will establish and manage a biosafety research facility that will serve as a standard for the Jeonbuk region, and we will devote all efforts to fostering talent in a quality research environment.'
