Department of Social Welfare BK21 Project Division for Training Future Welfare Personnel for Regional Innovation (Director Yun Myeong-suk) recently received the Best Poster Award at the Spring Conference of the Korean Association of Family and Social Welfare.
The spring conference, held under the theme "Discussing the Present and Future of Social Care in an Era of Population Decline," featured presentations on policy-related research on social care and discussions by social welfare practitioners in the field.
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Department of Social Welfare BK21 Project Division's team of Oh Ji-won (Ph.D. candidate), Lee Ji-hyun (Ph.D. candidate), and Associate Professor Yeo Yeong-hun presented a poster titled "The Effect of Digital Facilitators for Marriage Immigrants on Their Attitudes Toward and Outcomes of Information Use: Focusing on a Comparison Between Metropolitan Cities and Other Counties," and won the Best Award.
This study examined the relationship between marriage immigrants' digital facilitators and their attitudes toward and outcomes of digital information use. It analyzed metropolitan cities and other counties separately to verify regional gaps. Based on this, it proposed practice and policy measures that reflect local living conditions to strengthen marriage immigrants' attitudes toward and outcomes of information use.
Yun Myeong-suk, Director of the BK21 Project Division, said, "This study has timely significance as it reflects the need to continuously study society's role in social care amid changing social conditions," and added, "I hope this research will be used as empirical evidence for policies on social adaptation of marriage immigrants that utilize digital information."
