The Foreign Research Information Center for Agriculture, Livestock, and Veterinary Medicine, operated by the Central Library (Center Director Jeong An-seong), received an S Grade (Highest) in the operational evaluation conducted by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Education and Research Information Service (KERIS).
The Foreign Research Information Center began its service in 2009 after Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) was selected for the Ministry of Education’s competitive support project to improve university educational conditions and strengthen research competitiveness.
Among the ten universities selected nationwide, JBNU has built foreign scholarly information resources in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and veterinary medicine, including 738 journals and 1.78 million articles. These resources are made available to all domestic researchers, and copying and postage costs are provided free of charge.
As JBNU's Foreign Research Information Center was selected as this year's top institution, JBNU received national support totaling 250 million won, including a 10 million won performance support grant, enabling it to further strengthen its information resources.
Jeong An-seong, Director of the JBNU Central Library, said, "The Central Library's Foreign Research Information Center has established top-level scholarly information in the fields of agriculture, livestock, and veterinary medicine and provides various supports to ensure easy access for users. We will continue to solidify our position as the foremost scholarly information institution in this field by offering diverse resources with improved services."
