The Continuing Education Center (Director Yang Byung-ho) will hold seven humanities lecture sessions from June to December to cultivate the humanities literacy of local residents.

Held as part of the National University Development Project, the lecture series begins on June 17 and will take place on the third Friday of each month at the Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Continuing Education Center located in Gyeongwon-dong.

The first lecture on the 17th will be opened by Professor Emeritus Lee Tae-young of JBNU (Department of Korean Language & Literature). He will discuss 'The Historicity of Jeonbuk Dialects and Their Regional Cultural Characteristics,' addressing the rarity and distinctive features of local culture.

In July, poet Jo Mi-ae will present 'Playing in the Poetry Collection — Appreciating Notable Poems by Deceased Jeonbuk Poets,' sharing notable poems and stories related to poets who were active in the region.

In addition, prominent figures from Jeonbuk will deliver lectures designed to inspire creative and imaginative thinking in the humanities among local residents. All lectures are free of charge.

Any resident of Jeonbuk Province may participate, and registration can be made through the Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Continuing Education Center website (http://cec.jbnu.ac.kr/) or by phone at 063-288-0022.

Yang Byung-ho Director of the Continuing Education Center said, 'We organized these humanities lectures to convey the true beauty and spirit of the humanities to local residents through the various humanities stories rooted in the region,' adding, 'I hope many local residents will take this opportunity to broaden their humanities literacy.'
