Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) reported that, on the 27th of last month, eight candidates recommended by the university (five for administrative positions, three for technical positions) were among the 161 nationwide successful candidates in the 2022 National Government Regional Talent Grade-7 Probationary Employee Selection Exam announced by the Ministry of Personnel Management.

The successful candidates are Ryu Deok-won (Department of Business Administration, 10), Song Yujeong (Department of Business Administration, 17), Oh Chan-mi (Divsion of Public Science, 15), Yun Yeo-won (Division of Advanced Materials Engineering, 15), Jang Sang-jin (Division of Chemical Engineering, 15), Jeong Jae-woo (Department of International Trade, 13), Choi Hye-min (Department of Sociology, 15), and Choi Hee-ji (Division of Biotechnology, 17).

The National Government Regional Talent Grade-7 Probationary Employee Selection Exam was introduced in 2005 to strengthen regional representation in the public sector by recruiting talent evenly across regions. Eligible graduates (or prospective graduates) who have received a recommendation from the university president undergo selection through a written test (PSAT) administered by the Ministry of Personnel Management, document screening, and interviews.

JBNU’s consistent achievement of producing one of the largest numbers of successful candidates nationwide each year has been greatly supported by the role of the Division of Electronics Information Engineering, which provides systematic support for preparing students for various national exams and professional certifications.

The Division of Electronics Information Engineering operates preparation classes for Grade-5 and Grade-7 civil service examinations; Certified Public Accountant (including tax accountant) preparation; teacher certification exam preparation; bar exam preparation; public enterprise recruitment; law school; journalism exams; and professional qualification courses (labor attorney, certified appraiser, customs broker, etc.). It supports examinees with a variety of programs. With a reading room of more than 500 seats and the infrastructure necessary for exam preparation, it is regarded as a key facility for nurturing top talent.

Meanwhile, the successful candidates will complete basic training in the first half of next year to adapt to public service and improve job performance. They will then serve a one-year probationary placement at central administrative agencies, and, following performance evaluations, will be appointed as regular Grade-7 civil servants.
