The Advanced Executive Program (ACE) successfully held a 'Sharing Concert' for local residents this year to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Children’s Day.
Held at 7:00 PM on May 19 at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Samsung Arts Center, the concert featured baritone Kim Dong-sik, traditional musician Oh Jeong-hae, and singer Jin Seong, who performed a harmony uniting Eastern and Western music.
Some 800 participants of the JBNU Advanced Executive Program and their families attended the concert, sharing music, fostering unity, and pledging to support the local community.
Participants of the Advanced Executive Program raised approximately 8 million won through a donation relay, and at the concert Park Seong-hak, the 8th President of the Jeonbuk National University Alumni Association, presented the fund to Green Umbrella ChildFund Korea.
Park Seong-hak, President of the Alumni Association, said, 'I am pleased that the participants' sincere contributions allow us to help children, even in a small way, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Children’s Day. We will strive to continue our support regardless of scale.'
JBNU President Kim Dong-won, who attended the concert, said, 'This sharing concert had great significance as it put noblesse oblige into practice for our neighbors and allowed the Advanced Executive Program participants and their families to come together in unity. In an era of change and speed where the role of leaders is extremely important, we will spare no effort to support the Advanced Executive Program so that it can form a dignified network through high-quality education.'
