A married couple, Lee Chang-su and Jeong Hyun-sook, who are the parents of a fourth-year student in the Department of Medicine at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), donated 5 million won to the School of Medicine Development Fund. The School of Medicine recently invited them and held a donation ceremony attended by Dean Im Seok-tae, Vice-Dean for Academic Affairs Kwon Geun-sang, and Vice-Dean for Research Go Myung-hwan.

Dr. Lee Chang-su, the donor, graduated from Wonkwang University School of Medicine and operates an anesthesia and pain medicine clinic in Gunsan. He currently serves as the president of the Gunsan Medical Association.

The couple had been seeking an opportunity to support, as parents, the JBNU School of Medicine where their beloved younger son has been studying for six years. Through their connection with Dean Im Seok-tae, who also serves in the Jeonbuk Medical Association, they decided to make this donation.

Dr. Lee said, "This February, following the inauguration of Dean Im Seok-tae, with whom I have had a long relationship, I decided to act on the donation I had long intended. I hope it will be of some help, however modest, to the students of the JBNU School of Medicine, including my son."

Dean Im Seok-tae responded, "We are grateful that you decided to donate to the development of our School of Medicine on this meaningful occasion. We will use these funds responsibly to improve the students' educational environment."
