Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Business Incubator (Director Kwon Dae-gyu) announced on the 19th that it received an 'S' grade, the highest rating, in the 2022 Business Incubator management evaluation conducted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. JBNU has been selected as the top institution in the field of business incubation for four consecutive years including this year, solidifying its position as the region's leading business incubator.

The Ministry of SMEs and Startups annually conducts a comprehensive evaluation of Ministry-designated business incubators using quantitative and qualitative indicators such as performance in operating professional personnel, performance in operating incubation facilities, performance in operating incubation programs, and cases of collaboration with external organizations.

JBNU’s Business Incubator developed and operated differentiated incubation programs tailored to the levels of its resident companies, receiving full marks for incubation program operation performance, collaboration with external organizations for incubation, and promotional achievements.

As a result of these efforts, JBNU’s Business Incubator supported 58 resident companies, generating KRW 36.5 billion in sales and creating 195 jobs. Notable achievements include selection of resident companies for 52 government-supported projects and acquisition of 46 intellectual property rights.

It was also selected as the lead institution for the 'Business Incubator Remodeling Support Project' supported by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, remodeling the Business Incubator Center 3 located in Iseo, Wanju to improve aging facilities and establish a comfortable start-up environment, resulting in successful attraction of promising local food and bio companies.

In addition, JBNU signed a consignment operation agreement with the Jeonbuk Regional Office of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and opened the former district office building as POST-BI. Since 2009, JBNU has been operating the Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI under consignment. Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI was also recognized for its achievements in supporting outstanding graduate companies and received an 'A' grade this year as well, following last year.

Kwon Dae-gyu, Director of the Business Incubator, said, 'JBNU leverages its strengths as a central university in the Honam region to provide linked support through the Business Incubator for young entrepreneurs with creative ideas and regional entrepreneurs. We will strive to nurture incubated companies into representative companies of Jeonbuk through systematic support, such as establishing processes to enable graduate companies to move into the Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI.'
