Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) campus tours, which had been suspended due to COVID-19, have resumed after three years as social distancing measures were eased.
JBNU campus tours had been popular as field-experience programs for elementary, middle and high schools, and had been held 50 to 100 times a year, but were suspended with the COVID-19 pandemic.
JBNU student ambassadors used to guide groups around the campus by bus or on foot, providing explanations about locations and academic departments, and received strong positive responses from elementary, middle and high schools.
On the 13th, in the first campus tour in three years, 15 students from Deokam Middle School in Gimje visited the university and, together with student ambassadors, toured the campus by bus to experience the university's diversity.
Starting with this, tours will be offered to high schools such as Jeonju Wansan High School and Jeonju Technical High School, as well as elementary schools, upon application. It is expected that, if social distancing is further eased, the tours will regain their former vibrancy.
Yoon Tae-hyun, a student ambassador and a third-year student in the Division of Agricultural Economics and Agri-Food Marketing, who led the campus tour that day, said, "I was excited and proud to have the opportunity, since beginning my activities as an ambassador, to introduce the many beautiful aspects of the university to visitors coming for the first time. I hope the campus tours will become more active so that the university's excellence can be conveyed to future applicants."
Meanwhile, applications for JBNU campus tours can be made easily through the JBNU Office of Public Relations website(http://pr.jbnu.ac.kr).
