Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) held a tree-planting event on Arbor Day, April 5, with President Kim Dong-won and members of the university community in attendance.

About 100 JBNU staff and others planted 800 forsythia shrubs near Global Talent Hall and the Humanities and Social Sciences Building that day.

In addition, to commemorate the expansion and remodeling of the University Headquarters, an event was held to plant a spring-flowering Hongdo-hwa tree in front of the Headquarters Annex.

President Kim Dong-won said, "Now that we are gradually returning to normal life, face-to-face classes are resuming, and university institutions are taking their places, I am grateful that we can hold this commemorative tree-planting and Arbor Day event. At a time when we must consider the future of education, we will do our best to establish a new status as a national hub university and to ensure that various policies are implemented successfully."
