Attorneys Lee Min-ho, Choi Young-ho, and Ko Seung-hoon of the law firm 'Moak' are members of the same graduating class who completed their studies at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Law School, although they attended different undergraduate programs. Bound by this connection, they agreed to establish a law firm together to build their careers in the region and have maintained a long-standing relationship.
Their exceptional friendship was returned as a development fund reflecting their affection for junior students. They pooled 10 million won and donated it for the benefit of junior students at the Law School.
JBNU invited them to the university on March 29 at 2:30 PM and held a donation ceremony for the development fund, presenting commemorative plaques and expressing gratitude for their gift.
Their decision to make this donation stemmed from a strong commitment to cultivating local talent.
Having lamented the outflow of local talent to the Seoul metropolitan area, they said they wanted to support their alma mater, JBNU, the region's leading university, in training outstanding students and helping them remain in the region.
They plan to continue making donations to support the development of local talent. In particular, the law firm 'Moak' stated its intention to continue hiring local talent and to grow into a large law firm active nationwide.
Attorney Lee Min-ho said, “With the outflow of outstanding local talent to the Seoul metropolitan area so severe, I wanted to support our alma mater's efforts to train local talent and keep them in the region as an alumnus,” adding, “I hope our alma mater trains excellent legal professionals and plays a greater role in helping them establish stable careers.”
Meanwhile, the law firm Moak was opened in 2013 by first-cohort JBNU Law School graduates Attorneys Lee Min-ho, Jeong Jae-won, and Song Hong-gi under the name 'Ilheung.' In 2014 they also donated 20 million won as a development fund. Since 2015, Attorneys Lee Min-ho, Ko Seung-hoon, and Choi Young-ho have jointly operated the law firm 'Moak.'
