The JBNU Industry-University Cooperation Focus Project Group (Director Professor Song Je-ho) was selected as the Honam region diagnostic and planning agency for the "2022 Living Innovation Technology Development Project for Small Business Owners and the Self-Employed."

This project supports the technology development of small business owners by advancing ideas for technologies, products, processes, and services that can be applied directly in the field. It provides technological development support through cooperation and assistance from universities and research institutes, utilization of networks, and access to research equipment. Three institutions nationwide, including JBNU, were selected.

Recognized for its outstanding technical support personnel by field and years of experience conducting R&D projects, the JBNU Industry-University Cooperation Focus Project Group has been appointed as an operating institution for the third consecutive year, following 2020 and 2021. It will implement the project targeting small business owners in the Honam region (Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, Gwangju).

In April, the Project Group will recruit approximately 20 diagnostic and planning projects for Phase 1 (2 months / KRW 5 million per project). Through expert matching with JBNU's science and engineering faculty and other specialists, it plans to link selected projects to Phase 2 R&D projects (6 months / KRW 30 million per project) for continued support.

Director Song Je-ho said, 'We will utilize the university's excellent networks and infrastructure to resolve small business owners' technical development challenges and strengthen their innovation capacity. We will strive to support the management stability and innovation of small business owners in the Honam region who are experiencing difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic.'
