Jeonbuk National University Alumni Association (Chair Jeong Young-taek, Director of Onnuri Ophthalmology Clinic) is sharing the warm support of alumni with students by providing funds for breakfast.

The Alumni Association launched the program last fall under the name 'Warm Breakfasts with the Alumni Association.' This year as well, since the new semester began on March 7, it has been supporting students so they can obtain popular breakfast items—gimbap, milk, probiotic drinks, bread, and other items—free of charge at five convenience stores on campus.

By March 16, in the span of one week, more than 1,000 students had taken breakfast and gone to class, and student response has been very strong.

Im Subin, a second-year student in the Department of Spanish and Latin American Studies, who said she feels reassured by having a hearty breakfast thanks to the Alumni Association's support, commented, 'I usually do not eat breakfast, but stopping by a convenience store on my way to campus for a quick breakfast lets me start the day feeling secure,' adding, 'I am grateful to the alumni and naturally want to pay forward this warm kindness to future students.'

Chair Jeong Young-taek of the Jeonbuk National University Alumni Association said, 'We launched this program in response to alumni who, like parents, want students to go to school after having eaten breakfast,' and added, 'Because eating breakfast benefits not only physical health but also academic performance, we will work to broaden alumni support so that more students can benefit.'
