'Meet Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Through a Music Video and a Web Drama!'

Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) (President Kim Dong-won) announced on the 21st that it has produced videos presenting university information tailored to the interests and sensibilities of high school students. The videos draw attention by using two genres frequently consumed by Generation Z: a web drama and a music video.

The web drama is presented in an omnibus format that compresses content into a short runtime. It runs approximately six minutes and covers three themes: first, 'I Will Hold Your Hand,' offering support to struggling examinees; second, 'How to Become a Greater Person,' a guide to a fulfilling university life; and third, 'This Is Udae,' which helps guide university choice. Notably, the Director of the Office of Admission appears in the web drama to lead the story, and the footage promotes symbolic campus spaces and buildings, such as the hanok-style main gate and Munhwaryu.

The three-minute music video merges two genres—rap, favored by many high school students, and a fusion pansori that reflects Jeonbuk's distinctive sound—resulting in an engaging, fast-paced production. In the piece, JBNU student ambassadors tour and introduce various campus locations on camera, including the university cafeteria, the library, Geonjisan, and the museum. The video also briskly highlights signature university programs such as the 'Big Person Project.'

JBNU plans to upload the produced videos to the admissions website and JBNU's official YouTube channel, and to use them at high school admissions briefings.

Joo Sang-hyun, Director of the Office of Admission, said, 'This video, produced as part of a national university development initiative, takes a bold approach by adopting genres favored by high school students, unlike previous videos. We hope it will be helpful not only to high school applicants preparing for university admission but also to students in underserved areas.'
