"We Support Your New Start."

Jeonbuk National University (JBNU), President Kim Dong-won, held an online orientation to help new and transfer students starting the 2022 spring semester adapt quickly to university life, offering participants commemorative gifts and other items.

JBNU produced a video in late February 2022 containing university policies and a guide to campus life, uploaded it online, and met new and transfer students through the video to replace the in-person orientation that could not be held due to COVID-19.

To encourage student participation in the online orientation, the university inserted 15 quizzes throughout the video. On March 18, 2022, the university held an online drawing for participating students, awarding devices needed for university life, such as iPads and AirPods.

The drawing, conducted via Instagram Live, took place from 2:00 PM with President Kim Dong-won, student affairs officials, the president of the JBNU Student Council, and student council presidents of the colleges in attendance.

A total of 447 students submitted quiz responses to the online orientation, and, through the drawing, 38 students received commemorative gifts.

President Kim Dong-won said, "In a situation where face-to-face contact is not possible because of COVID-19, we produced the video to provide both information and enjoyment and to make it easier for students embarking on a new start to learn about the university's key policies and university life," adding, "I hope many students gain more information through the video, which offers an overview of university life."

Meanwhile, this video is available on JBNU's official YouTube channel.
