The Central Library (Director Jeong An-seong) has organized a cultural event to address local cultural disparities as part of the National University Development Project and will share the university's cultural and artistic resources with the local community.

The library will hold 'JBNU Cultural Journey' on February 16 (Wed) at 2:00 PM. After pre-registration, the event will welcome 100 participants, consisting of local residents and members of the university community, and will feature travel writer Yoonjung Park and opera singer Eun-kyung Kim.

Beginning with an opening performance, Yoonjung Park will give a lecture about her trekking tour experiences in South America, the European music city Bregenz, and sustainable travel.

After the lectures on each theme, a performance ensemble led by opera singer Eun-kyung Kim will present music from South America, selections from the film The Lord of the Rings, the operas Turandot and Madama Butterfly, and Hungarian and Italian art songs, offering a varied and delightful program.

An exhibition related to the JBNU Cultural Journey will also be set up in the Central Library's first-floor lobby. It will display Yoonjung Park's presentation materials and works, as well as interviews and lecture videos.

Director Jeong An-seong said, 'As demands grow for the university's cultural role in strengthening local cultural autonomy, the university intends to take the lead in providing an opportunity for a qualitative leap in regional cultural enjoyment activities and to serve as a central pillar of cultural autonomy. Through this warm partnership with the local community, we hope this will provide an opportunity to close the cultural gap between urban and rural areas caused by underdeveloped cultural and artistic infrastructure.'
