The Center for Engineering Education Innovation at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) delivered metaverse education to students aimed at leading future new industry sectors and received strong responses. Since this was specialized training difficult to include in the regular university curriculum, student participation and satisfaction were very high.

From the 25th to the 27th, the Center conducted a metaverse content creation course amid rapidly growing demand.

The 'Metaverse 3D Content Creation Course Using Unity' was attended by 20 students from JBNU and Kongju National University, Kunsan National University, Dongshin University, Wonkwang University, and Chungnam National University. Based on the fundamental theory of the Unity engine, a real-time 3D development platform, and hands-on coding practice, participants produced 3D content and completed project assignments.

They also strengthened their capabilities in emerging future industries through theoretical instruction on the metaverse ecosystem and content production using Unity servers.

Lee Il-jae, Director of the Center for Engineering Education Innovation, said, 'In response to growing demand for the rapidly developing metaverse field amid increasing remote interactions, we are developing and operating related curricula,' adding, 'To respond to developments in new technologies and new industries that are difficult to accommodate within university curricula, we will continuously develop long-term educational programs to lead the training of engineering talent for new industries.'
