The Korean Pharmaceutical Association (President Hong Jin-tae) donated 10 million won to support the development of Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) College of Pharmacy, which was established in 2020.

President Hong Jin-tae of the Korean Pharmaceutical Association, along with Vice President Jeong Jae-hoon (professor, JBNU College of Pharmacy), Secretary General Lee Chang-hoon, and Chair of the Academic Committee Chae Han-jeong (Dean, JBNU College of Pharmacy), and other division chairs attended the development fund donation ceremony organized by the university on January 27 in the afternoon. They handed over the fund and discussed plans for exchanges to promote the College of Pharmacy's development.

On the day, JBNU President Kim Dong-won, Executive Vice-President for External Relations Choi Baek-ryeol, Kim Kwan-woo, Chairman of the Jeonbuk National University Development Foundation, Shim Gwan-seop, Vice-President of the Office of University Development, and others joined the ceremony and presented a plaque of appreciation to President Hong to express gratitude for the donation.

The Korean Pharmaceutical Association made the donation to actively support JBNU College of Pharmacy's differentiated pharmacy education and talent development aimed at training excellent research pharmacists to take the lead in the region's strength in natural-product-based new drug development.

Six months after the College's establishment, JBNU College of Pharmacy has demonstrated its research-oriented character by securing a large-scale national R&D project and moving toward industrialization of medicinal cannabis, reflecting expectations that the Korean Pharmaceutical Association will provide support and engage in close mutual exchanges.

In particular, the fact that the Korean Pharmaceutical Association's autumn international conference at the end of last year was successfully completed with active cooperation from JBNU College of Pharmacy also served to strengthen the ties between the two organizations.

President Hong Jin-tae said, "JBNU College of Pharmacy, which boasts exceptional research competitiveness, has grown into a pharmacy school that has attracted significant attention in a short time since its establishment. I hope that academic exchanges with the Korean Pharmaceutical Association will provide win-win opportunities for both institutions."
