Professor Yun Myeong-suk (Department of Social Welfare, College of Social Science) was recently appointed as a member of the Jeollabuk-do Election Commission.

The term of office for election commissioners is six years, and the Jeollabuk-do Election Commission currently comprises eight members, chaired by the Chief Judge of the Jeonju District Court.

The provincial election commissioners are responsible for managing all elections and voting in the Jeollabuk-do region, including presidential elections, National Assembly elections, local council and local government head elections, and elections for presidents of national universities. They also handle matters related to modernizing election and political systems, such as submitting opinions on the enactment and revision of laws concerning political affairs.

Professor Yun said, "I will strive to ensure that fair and transparent elections are held in our region by drawing on my experience."
