Professor Seo Hee (College of Engineering, Department of Quantum System Engineering) received the Chairperson's Commendation from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission for contributions to the activities of the civilian investigation panel on tritium at the Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant.

The Nuclear Safety and Security Commission formed a civilian investigation panel, recommended by relevant academic societies, to conduct an objective and scientific investigation into tritium-related issues at the Wolsong Nuclear Power Plant.

Professor Seo Hee was appointed to the civilian investigation panel as a radiation expert on the recommendation of the Korean Association for Radiation Protection. Professor Seo Hee is participating in the investigation into the causes of high-concentration tritium detections on the Wolsong site, including radioactivity analyses of various samples.

Professor Seo Hee also serves as a member of the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission's Radiation Incident Grading Assessment Committee and as Executive Director of General Affairs for the Korean Association for Radiation Protection.

Meanwhile, Professor Seo Hee is carrying out a number of national R&D projects in the field of radiation safety, including the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission–supported "Development of Containment Device Technology for Real-Time Verification of Sensitive Nuclear Materials," the Ministry of the Interior and Safety's "Development of Protection Technologies for Radiation Disaster Evacuation Facilities," and the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries' "Development of Smart Processing Technology for Seafood Products."
