Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) closed applications at 6:00 PM on the 3rd for the 2022 regular admissions. A total of 8,159 applicants applied for 1,705 openings, producing a competition rate of 4.79 to 1. This is a significant increase from last year’s 3.17 to 1.

The Group A General Admissions, which selects 853 students, showed a competition rate of 4.94 to 1. The Group B General Admissions, which has 694 openings, recorded 5.05 to 1.

Additionally, in Group A, the Regional Admissions Track had a 4.26 to 1 ratio, the Rural Area Student Track 3.83 to 1, and the Equal Opportunity Admissions 3.00 to 1.

In Group B, the competition rates were: General Admissions (Arts and Physical Education Departments) 2.25 to 1; Rural Area Student Track 3.00 to 1; Equal Opportunity Admissions 2.40 to 1; and the Adult Learner Track 1.50 to 1.

The department with the highest competition rate was the Preparatory Veterinary Medical Course (Group B General Admissions), which received 246 applications for 18 openings, a 13.67 to 1 ratio. The Department of Pharmacy also showed a high rate of 11.33 to 1.

Elsewhere, in Group B, the Jimmy Carter School of International Studies' Division of International Humanities posted 9.00 to 1; in Group A, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences' Department of Agri-Food Marketing recorded 8.06 to 1; and the Department of Food Science and Technology 8.00 to 1, among others.

Meanwhile, for the Arts and Physical Education Departments, practical exams will be held on January 14. Successful applicants for the General Admissions and Regional Admissions Track will be announced on January 26 next year, and results for the Arts and Physical Education Departments and Special Admissions will be announced on January 27, respectively.
