Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Financial Industry Professional Workforce Development Project Group (Interdisciplinary Major in Finance and Pension Economics) was recognized for its contributions to training professionals in the financial sector and received the Chairperson's Award of the Credit Counseling and Recovery Service at the 16th Kyunghyang Financial Education Awards, jointly hosted by the Kyunghyang Shinmun, the Financial Supervisory Service, and the Credit Counseling and Recovery Service.

The Financial Industry Professional Workforce Development Project Group was established and has been operating since 2017 under a memorandum of understanding between JBNU, Jeonju City, and the National Pension Service to train financial professionals.

Through support for the undergraduate linked major in Finance and Pension Economics, launched to cultivate outstanding talent for the financial and pension fund sectors, 155 students participated in the program through 2020, and 41 of them obtained employment at financial institutions, demonstrating notable success in workforce development.

The project group also promoted the latest trends in the financial and pension fund sectors by hosting forums, and supported domestic and overseas visits to leading financial institutions so students could learn from exemplary cases.

In addition, it established a computer practice room and a learning resource room, supported finance student clubs to help students achieve strong results in various competitions, and assisted with obtaining finance-related certifications, including international professional qualifications, Investment Asset Manager certification, and AFPK, thereby contributing to the cultivation of professional personnel for the financial industry.
