Professor Moon Kyung-yeon's team (School of International Humanities and Social Sciences) has been selected for a new research project in the "Research Project on Global Crisis Response Measures through Research Partnerships with Developing Countries" competition organized by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

Through this selection, Professor Moon Kyung-yeon's team will carry out the research project "Development and Application of a K-Better Digital Inclusiveness Indicator."

The research will be pursued in collaboration with the University of Cambridge, and Professors Ji-yeon Park and Bo-ram Shin of Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)'s School of International Humanities and Social Sciences will participate as co-investigators.

The project was recognized for its distinct emphasis on the concern that expanding digital inclusiveness without considering the social and cultural factors of recipient countries can cause various adverse effects.

It also received high evaluation for planning to establish research partnerships in Central Asia—including Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan—and to conduct professional, in-depth research through collaboration with the University of Cambridge and the Central Asia Forum.

The principal investigator (PI), Professor Moon Kyung-yeon, stated, "We hope that this project, undertaken to seek better ways to expand digital inclusiveness, will contribute to strengthening developing countries' capacity to address social problems."

Meanwhile, JBNU's School of International Humanities and Social Sciences administers an interdisciplinary major linked to international development cooperation, and recently its graduates have been notably advancing into related fields.
