Doctoral candidate Kim Yun-mi (PhD coursework completed in Nursing; supervisor Professor Noh Ju‑hee) recently presented outstanding research outcomes at the Korean Society of Lifestyle Medicine’s 2021 Annual Scientific Meeting and received the Best Research Award.
The Korean Society of Lifestyle Medicine was founded to conduct systematic research into lifestyle-related diseases such as dementia, cancer, cardiovascular disease, stroke, obesity, and diabetes and to propose new therapeutic paradigms. It holds an academic conference annually.
At the conference, Ms. Kim presented a paper titled 'The Influencing Factors on Quality of Life in Low-Income Women with Young Children.'
The study indicated that the quality of life among low-income women with young children is low, and suggested that improving quality of life requires strategies to enhance marital intimacy, promote women's healthy lifestyles, and increase economic activity through women's social participation. The paper received high evaluations from the reviewers.
Kim Yun-mi said, “I would like to share the joy of this award with Professor Noh Ju‑hee and the fellow researchers who provided substantial assistance for this study,” and added, “I will devote myself to further research in this field so that ways can be sought to improve the quality of life of low-income women and to support their participation in society.”
“I want to share the joy of this award with Professor Noh Ju‑hee and my fellow researchers who provided great help for this study,” she said. “Through more advanced research, I will grow as a researcher who seeks methods to help patients with various diseases, including cancer, lead better lives.”
