The Startup Support Center, which provides diverse support to help students' creative ideas lead to startups, held an entrepreneurship camp for startup club students to share their achievements and offer encouragement.
The Startup Support Center announced on December 3 that it held the 'JBNU Startup Club Entrepreneurship Camp' on campus over two days, December 2 and 3, to cultivate student entrepreneurs.
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) supports 20 startup club student teams through the 'JBNU Startup Club Support Program', matching CTO startup clubs composed of graduate students from a laboratory-specialized Startup Leading University project with undergraduates. Each team receives KRW 5 million for prototype production, along with various training and mentoring.
The camp was designed to provide an opportunity for startup club students to share their processes and achievements to date and to establish strategies for refining their items following support, through exchanges with laboratory graduate student CTOs.
At the camp, sessions included 'Successful Speech Strategies for Aspiring Startup CEOs' to strengthen students' pitching skills and confidence, a 'Management Strategy Development Simulation Program' to enhance management mindsets, and expert-matching mentoring on club achievements in 2021.
On the final day of the event, an item presentation competition featured 10 JBNU startup club teams with unique and fresh ideas, such as 'MBTI-based therapeutic fragrances' and 'an emotional guidebook for self-growth and healing.' Awards were given for outstanding achievements, and follow-up support will be provided, including linking teams to advanced mentoring support programs to ensure excellent ideas are not shelved.
Kwon Dae-gyu, Director of the Startup Support Center, said, 'This camp was organized to recognize in one place the passion our startup club students have shown to date and to foster entrepreneurial awareness through sharing and solidarity.' He added, 'Having concluded the year with strong results, we will continue to develop high-quality programs so that students' excellent ideas can become a light that changes the world next year.'
