Graduate student Subin Hwang (Master's Program in the Department of Urban Engineering; advisor Professor Ji-uk Hwang) received the Outstanding Paper Award after presenting outstanding research achievements at the Fall Conference recently held by the Korean Association for Regional Development and the Industrial Cluster Association.

At the conference, graduate student Subin Hwang presented a paper titled "A Study on the Trends and Implementation of Urban Regeneration Policy," which received favorable reviews.

This study was recognized for its originality and excellence. It analyzed mechanisms to strengthen horizontal participation between local residents and experts to further revitalize urban regeneration in small and medium-sized provincial cities, and provided interpretive frameworks to ensure that core local concerns are accurately reflected.

Notably, Hwang graduated from the Department of Urban Engineering at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) and is currently employed by a company in the related field. Hwang works as an engineer in urban planning and urban regeneration, developing both practical skills and academic capabilities; these competencies have formed the basis for producing excellent research outcomes.

Graduate student Subin Hwang said, "Majoring in urban engineering and working in practice in the fields of urban planning and regeneration has allowed me to pursue deeper research on urban regeneration. I will continue to conduct research that brings theory and practice together to generate synergistic effects."
