"We organized this development fund to forever remember becoming part of the Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) family and to help our juniors."
The College of Nursing has a distinctive tradition. Senior graduate students (master's and doctoral) raise funds for junior students, and newly appointed faculty members also donate funds each year to support the college's development and the training of future generations.
This beautiful tradition unique to the College of Nursing continued this year. Professors Kim Young-man, Baek Ji-hyun, and Jeong Jae-won, appointed last year and this year, each donated KRW 20 million, totaling KRW 60 million. Their donations follow the relay initiated by newly appointed Professor Lee Eun-ji last year.
The newly appointed faculty marked their arrival in the JBNU family and dedicated the funds with the hope that College of Nursing students will develop competitive capabilities in their fields.
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) invited them on December 1 to hold a ceremony for the donation of the development fund and presented plaques of appreciation and other tokens in gratitude for their generosity toward the university and its junior students.
The new faculty said, "Because it has not been long since our appointment, we put our feelings of a fresh start as members of the JBNU family into the fund," and added, "We hope the College of Nursing will continue to develop and that students will grow into competitive professionals."
