“Thank you for your efforts to improve the quality of life of residents in the Jinan area.”
Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) LINC+ Project Group (Director Ko Young-ho) received a commendation from Jinan County in recognition of presenting a model of rural–urban mutual development through joint projects with the county.
Since 2018, the Project Group and Jinan County have promoted projects through a cooperative framework, including workshops for the development of Jinan’s specialized industry—the red ginseng and herbal medicine industry—training programs in the social economy sector, and the establishment of an integrated resident support service to provide online one‑stop civil services.
In particular, through workshops such as those to establish a youth‑participatory Industry–University Collaboration network, they laid the foundation for rural–urban coexistence. By building the integrated resident support service, they were selected as an outstanding case of proactive administration and achieved a patent filing.
Ko Young-ho, Director of the JBNU LINC+ Project Group, participated in the commendation ceremony held in Jinan County on November 30 and received a commendation from Jeon Chun‑seong, Jinan County Governor.
Ko Young-ho said, “We are pleased to have achieved the intended results by promoting projects centered on the JBNU Rural–Urban Industry Win‑Win RCC Center to create brand value for local rural areas. We will continue to strive to overcome the crisis of population decline and achieve balanced regional development through sustainable, not one‑off, projects.”
