As various non-face-to-face measures are being explored to help small businesses struggling due to COVID-19 secure sales channels, Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Business Incubator (Director Kwon Dae-gyu) achieved concrete success on the 25th by holding an online video consultation with overseas buyers for its resident companies.

The JBNU Business Incubator, together with Howon University Business Incubator and Hope Jeonbuk POST BI, conducted a video consultation session with overseas buyers for resident companies seeking overseas expansion as part of the 2021 Incubation Capacity-Building Project 'NICE Supermarket' program.

The consultation involved five companies — Dosinongbu Co., Ltd., Medi&Research Co., Ltd., Selgen, Wis Co., Ltd., and JK Life Sciences Co., Ltd. — which held video meetings with buyers from Vietnam to assess the export potential of their products and identify new business opportunities.

The consultations resulted in a total of 15 meetings and three MOUs. In particular, JBNU-affiliated Dosinongbu Co., Ltd.'s urban smart-farm system and Hope Jeonbuk POST-BI's JK Life Sciences Co., Ltd.'s organic fertilizers and single-ingredient feed attracted strong interest from overseas buyers, securing MOUs worth US$90,000 and US$49,000, respectively.

In addition, as follow-up support, the Business Incubator will list participating companies' products in the Vietnam-dedicated online showroom 'KORETOVIET.com' and provide a three-month product promotion period to local buyers and consumers, raising expectations for further favorable outcomes.

Kwon Dae-gyu, director of the Business Incubator, said, "We planned the program to help the Incubator's resident companies enter overseas markets amid the global economic environment. We will continue steady support through various programs to help startups in the Jeonbuk region develop export routes."
