The Jeonbuk Center of the Korea Center on Gambling Problems, commissioned and operated by the Industry-University Cooperation (Center Director Lee Hee-jeong), has been conducting gambling-problem prevention campaigns in collaboration with universities in the Jeonbuk region and has received strong responses.
This year, the center has joined with Jeonju Vision University, Yesu University, Wonkwang Health University, and Hanil Jangsin University to carry out campaigns on each campus. On the 24th, together with the Woosuk University Student Counseling Center, it conducted a campaign aimed at raising awareness of and preventing gambling problems among Woosuk University students and staff.
At the campaign, organizers provided various information about gambling problems to participants through a quiz and an activity involving stickers on a panel bearing the slogan "Keep Gambling Away, Face Problems Together." They also distributed promotional items to students and staff who took part in the gambling-problem screening (paper-based, QR code) in sequence.
Lee Hee-jeong, Center Director of the Jeonbuk Center of the Korea Center on Gambling Problems, said, "Going forward, we will continue to work closely with counseling centers at regional universities to identify students struggling with gambling problems and to take the lead in providing professional services."
Meanwhile, the Jeonbuk Center of the Korea Center on Gambling Problems is a specialized counseling and treatment institution for gambling problems that conducts prevention and recovery programs related to addiction and gambling problems resulting from the gambling industry. Since August 2017, it has been commissioned and operated by the Industry-University Cooperation at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU).
