Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has joined hands with the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (President Kim Jae-su) to cultivate talent that will drive the development of the agricultural and food industry.
The two organizations held a signing ceremony on June 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Headquarters meeting room. Attendees included Seo Geoseok, President; Kim Jae-su, President; Cho Nam-pyo, Vice‑President of Industry‑University Cooperation; Yang Byung-woo, Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences; Heo Hun-mu, Vice President; and other key officials from both organizations.
The agreement is primarily aimed at expanding students' practical employment opportunities through close exchange and cooperation between the two organizations.
Under the agreement, the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation will take the lead in job creation by hiring JBNU students as interns. In particular, it plans to establish mentoring between corporation employees and students from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to provide practical assistance in preparing for employment at the corporation and thereby seek to expand job placements.
They also agreed to form and operate a joint consulting group and to work toward building an agro‑fisheries information hotline, among other initiatives, to support research and development in the domestic agro‑fisheries and food sector.
In addition, the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation will participate in JBNU's rural volunteer activities, and the two parties will jointly pursue social contribution activities.
