The Department of Child Studies (Department Chair Jin-young Chae) recently signed an agreement with the 'I-deul Care Counseling & Treatment Center' (Center Director Ji-young Han), a specialist institution for child and adolescent counseling and therapy, to collaborate on improving the health of children in North Jeolla Province.
The 'I-deul Care Counseling & Treatment Center' is an integrated child psychological and behavioral development treatment institution affiliated with Dasol Children's Hospital, the largest pediatric specialty hospital in North Jeolla Province. It is a child counseling specialist institution that provides systematic counseling and psychological therapy services for emotional problems, social development issues, and school adjustment difficulties in children and adolescents.
Under the agreement, the center will provide clinical practicum opportunities to train professionals required in the child counseling field and will recommend outstanding candidates. This is expected to play a significant role in improving employment rates among Department of Child Studies students.
To this end, both institutions will establish and operate necessary curricula and will collaborate on program consultancy and joint research.
They also plan to support education through internships, clinical practicum, and specialist instructors to enable students to actively enter the field of child counseling.
Department Chair Jin-young Chae said, 'This agreement with a child counseling and treatment specialist institution can achieve both the improvement of children’s health in North Jeolla Province and an increase in student employment rates,' adding, 'We will strive to serve as a bridge through substantive exchanges and cooperation so that our students can broadly enter the field of child counseling.'
