Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has been evaluated as outstanding in startup incubation for companies and support for student entrepreneurship, and is sweeping up various startup-related support programs.
Recently, JBNU was selected for the second consecutive year as an operating institution for the BI (Business Incubation Center) Capacity Strengthening Project administered by the Small and Medium Business Administration.
In addition, JBNU received the highest rating (S grade) in the BI center operation evaluation recently conducted by the Small and Medium Business Administration, and last month was selected for the Customized Startup Program, through which it is identifying prospective entrepreneurs with promising startup ideas. Also, two student startup clubs supported and operated by the university were selected for programs funded respectively by the Small and Medium Business Corporation and the Jeonbuk Economic & Trade Promotion Agency, helping them establish a stable foundation for entrepreneurship.
The newly selected BI Capacity Strengthening Project supports the development and operation of incubation programs for resident companies, providing programs aimed at stable growth and competitiveness enhancement.
Accordingly, JBNU will receive a total of KRW 93 million to strengthen education and mentoring programs for companies housed at the Hope Jeonbuk Startup Incubation Center in Palbok-dong to support their growth.
Going forward, resident companies will be offered customized training programs necessary for business operations, such as leadership, sales, marketing, and management, and will also receive one-on-one mentoring from experts in areas of difficulty.
Kim Cheol-saeng, Director of the Startup Incubation Center, said, "JBNU's startup incubation, customized training, and systematic mentoring programs have been highly evaluated, resulting in selection for various support programs. We expect this will strengthen the entrepreneurial capabilities of resident companies. We will make efforts to further solidify the growth foundations of resident companies."
