Veterinarian Eun-ju Kim of the Wildlife Rescue and Management Center operated by Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) received a Commendation from the Minister of Environment at the commemorative ceremony for '2013 Biodiversity Day' held on the 22nd at the Peace Plaza of Sangam World Cup Stadium in Seoul.
Veterinarian Eun-ju Kim was recognized for her contributions to environmental and biological resource conservation while working at the Wildlife Rescue and Management Center.
She has played a major role in treating and returning dozens of wild animals rescued each year by the Wildlife Rescue and Management Center to the wild.
Veterinarian Kim said, "Now is a time when efforts and our small actions are urgently required to protect our country's disappearing wildlife resources," and added, "I dedicate this honor to Center Director Shin Ki-uk and the staff of the Wildlife Rescue and Management Center who work tirelessly to protect the nation's wild animals, and I will continue to devote myself to wildlife conservation and treatment."
