Professor Kim Dong-chan of the Medical School, Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, has been elected as the next President of the Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine. His term will be two years, from April next year to April 2016.
The Korean Society of Critical Care Medicine was established beginning with the Emergency Medicine Society in 1980 and currently strives to advance research in critical care medicine and to improve patient health.
Professor Kim said, “I will do my best to promote unity among society members and to advance related research fields,” adding, “In particular, as the 2015 World Congress of Critical Care Medicine is scheduled to be held in Korea, I will make every effort to ensure its successful organization.”
Professor Kim Dong-chan graduated from Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) Medical School and has served as a faculty member at JBNU since 1991. He has served as Vice President of the Korean Society of Neuroanesthesiology Research, Director of the Medical Quality Improvement Office at Jeonbuk National University Hospital, and was in charge of management and administration. He is currently Head of the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Jeonbuk National University Hospital and President of the Korean Society of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.
