Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has agreed to cooperate closely with Jeonju Customs (Customs Commissioner Im Geun-cheol) to train trade professionals and for related initiatives.
To this end, the two institutions held a signing ceremony on May 8 at 3:00 p.m. in the headquarters meeting room. The ceremony was attended by President Seo Geoseok, Jeonju Customs Commissioner Im Geun-cheol, and other key officials from both organizations.
This agreement is intended to enable the two institutions to carry out government–university cooperative programs, including the development of talent to train trade professionals, the exchange of import–export related information, and joint promotion.
On the day, both parties agreed to conduct joint research aimed at cultivating outstanding talent through trade-related research and exchanges of human resources, as well as on support measures for trade-related areas such as FTAs and for local industry.
They also shared the aim of promoting the university and the customs administration more widely and of providing students with field training opportunities to develop practical skills.
President Seo Geoseok said, "Cooperating closely with Jeonju Customs, which contributes to national development by supporting companies’ smooth import–export operations and through advanced customs clearance procedures, will produce very positive effects. I hope that more JBNU alumni will be active in trade and customs work, and I expect that the competitiveness of both institutions will be further enhanced."
