Professor Song Ki-chun (Law School) recently assumed the presidency of the Association for Democratic Legal Studies.
The Association for Democratic Legal Studies was founded in 1989 to promote the democratization of Korea's legal system and legal scholarship through legal research, presentations, and social activities. Professor Song said, "First, through the discipline of law I will undertake practices that can help the most vulnerable and disadvantaged people in our society," and added, "I will also promote focused research groups on specific topics to consolidate the excellent research capabilities of individual members, and publish books based on articles in the journal Democratic Legal Studies that students can easily access, thereby contributing to legal education."
Professor Song graduated from Seoul National University School of Law and received his master's and doctoral degrees from the same university's graduate school. He has been a professor at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) since 2004.
