Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has held a special lecture series to help students establish their career paths early, receiving strong response from freshmen.
The Career Support Center is visiting 12 Colleges and 101 Departments from April 1 through the end of the month to provide all freshmen with the "KeunSaram START" Special Lecture, a career planning and aptitude-testing program.
This special lecture is intended to help freshmen design career paths suited to their aptitudes and to foster a goal-oriented mindset toward employment.
To this end, the Career Support Center made an online aptitude test available to all freshmen through March 31. Based on the results, tailored lectures and counseling are being provided to help freshmen find appropriate career paths.
On April 2, special lectures were held for freshmen from the College of Humanities' Department of German Language & Literature, Department of English Language & Literature, and Department of Psychology; the College of Education; HwanSaeng College; and the College of Engineering's Department of Mineral Resources and Energy Engineering and Department of Organic Materials and Fiber Engineering. After receiving their aptitude test results, students explored suitable career paths while listening to experts' explanations and received information about career support programs administered by the Career Support Center.
Lee Ji-hee, a student in the Department of English Language & Literature, said, "Many students wander because they cannot find a career suited to them, so it was very helpful to learn early about my interests, psychological state, and aptitudes through this special lecture. It was a time to resolve to set my interests and career path quickly and to actively participate in the university's strong career support programs."
