Jeonbuk National University (JBNU)'s College of Veterinary Medicine (Dean Kim In-sik) has received a donation of medical devices from BSCorem Co., Ltd. (CEO Jin Seo-hyun), the country's only manufacturer specializing in animal-dedicated medical devices.

On the afternoon of March 26, BSCorem CEO Jin Seo-hyun visited Dean Kim In-sik of the College of Veterinary Medicine and donated veterinary orthopedic medical devices worth 20 million Korean won for use in animal clinical care and student practicums.

BSCorem Co., Ltd. is a veterinary-focused manufacturer that specializes in producing animal-dedicated medical devices such as orthopedic implants, bone graft materials, and instruments. Since its establishment in April 2011, the company has maintained collaborative research with JBNU's College of Veterinary Medicine, and continued exchanges, including jointly hosting the nation's first "Small Animal Orthopedic Seminar" in September of last year.

The donation is a model case of such industry–university collaboration. BSCorem stated that it wished to support JBNU's College of Veterinary Medicine, which is among the nation's top institutions, in training outstanding talent.

CEO Jin Seo-hyun of BSCorem said, "Sustained exchanges with JBNU's College of Veterinary Medicine, which holds the highest level of research in veterinary science, represent a model of correct collaboration that allows both company and university to win." He added, "We will continue to devote ourselves to industry–university collaboration so that both institutions can achieve mutual development, and we also hope to recruit outstanding talent from JBNU."

In response, Dean Kim In-sik of the College of Veterinary Medicine said, "The donation of medical devices will greatly help enhance the College's competitiveness by upgrading animal clinical care and student practicum." He added, "Let us continue exchanges to advance research in veterinary medicine and establish a standard for industry–university collaboration."

Meanwhile, BSCorem Co., Ltd. maintains an affiliated research laboratory for "functional implant materials" based on its joint industry–university research with JBNU, and holds intellectual property rights on approximately ten foundational and core technologies related to next-generation functional implant manufacturing, including design, materials, surface treatment, and processing.
