JBNU will operate a cultural and arts education program for students from multicultural families in the province and their parents.

JBNU has established the 'JBNU Saturday Cultural School,' offering classes for parents twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and providing students with weekly Saturday programs at the College of Arts and the Art Promotion Hall located in the Hanok Village.

To this end, the university will recruit participants until March 31 and plans to begin instruction on April 2.

This project aims to enable the increasing number of multicultural families and young people in the province to establish themselves as members of society based on cultural diversity.

To allow participants to experience Korean traditions, six-month courses in Korean traditional music—such as seoljanggo, gayageum, folk songs (minyo and danga), and pansori—will be offered, along with art classes including woodblock print workshops, hanji craft, ink painting, and Sagunja.

Particularly, taking into account the multicultural characteristics that distinguish it from other cultural education programs, the curriculum is organized as a participatory, hands-on program for participants. In addition, to motivate students and foster a sense of accomplishment, the university will exhibit students' and parents' works at the Art Promotion Hall and other venues once each semester and will hold presentations of the works.

The program will assign outstanding specialists from JBNU's Department of Korean Music and Department of Fine Arts as instructors to ensure a high-quality curriculum.

Park In-hyun, Dean of the College of Arts, said, "This program is designed to support the cultural adaptation of migrants in a multicultural society and to help them establish their cultural identity," adding, "We expect that not only students but also their parents will participate together and fully benefit from the communication and healing effects of cultural and artistic activities."
