Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) is being recognized as a cradle of entrepreneurship education.

Recently, having been selected for the Small and Medium Business Administration's 'Tailored Startup Program' and tasked with supporting outstanding entrepreneurs and companies, JBNU has decided to join with the Jeonju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency to support student startups and venture companies.

Accordingly, with support from the Small and Medium Business Administration and cooperation from related organizations, JBNU is expected to be able to operate robust, high-quality entrepreneurship education programs.

The two organizations held a signing ceremony on March 19 at 5:00 p.m. in the office of the Vice‑President of Industry‑University Cooperation. Key officials from both organizations attended, including Jo Nam-pyo, Vice‑President of Industry‑University Cooperation, and Park Kwang-jin, Director of the Jeonju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly cooperate on entrepreneurship education projects to cultivate startup talent in the IT sector and the CT sector, which integrates cultural content and information and communications. They will also combine efforts to discover and nurture student startups and venture companies.

To this end, the Entrepreneurship Education Center (Director Kwon Dae-gyu) and the One-Person Creative Business Support Center of the Jeonju Information and Culture Industry Promotion Agency will jointly host startup competitions and pursue concrete initiatives such as incubation support for student startup companies from JBNU.

Jo Nam-pyo, Vice‑President of Industry‑University Cooperation, said, "The IT and CT industries are growth engines that generate limitless added value, and training talent in these fields is essential for regional development. In particular, student interest in startups in the IT and CT fields has recently increased, so we expect this agreement to be of great help to students."
