Professor Dae-Seok Kim (College of Engineering, Division of Mechanical System Engineering) recently received the 'JOSK Award' from the Optical Society of Korea.
The JOSK Award, presented to researchers who have made outstanding achievements in the field of optics domestically and internationally, recognizes the researcher who has demonstrated the best research activity over a two-year period in Journal of the Optical Society of Korea, the SCIE-indexed English journal published by the Optical Society of Korea.
Professor Kim has attracted significant attention in academia by researching real-time micro- and nano-scale three-dimensional metrology using light and proposing foundational technologies applicable to advanced fields—ranging from large-aperture optical systems to IT, BT, and NT—for three-dimensional shape measurement at micro- and nano-scales.
Through this work, he has presented some 60 research results in domestic and international journals and conferences, including more than 30 SCI-indexed papers. He has also registered approximately 20 domestic and international patents in the field of optics.
Professor Kim is also actively engaged in academic activities, serving as a manuscript reviewer for the Optical Society of America and SPIE, and as a manuscript reviewer for the Optical Society of Korea.
