    Alumnus Lee Kyung-ok Appointed Second Vice Minister of the Ministry of Public Safety and Security

    Lee Kyung-ok, an alumnus of our university (Law, Class of 1978; former Vice Minister at the Ministry of Public Administration and Security), has been appointed Second Vice Minister of the Ministry of Public Safety and Security.

    Born in 1958 in Jangsu, North Jeolla Province, Lee graduated from our university's Department of Law and entered public service after passing the 25th administrative examination in 1981. He is a career public administrator who has served as Head of the Local Devolution Team, Administrative Management Officer, Director of the Autonomy System Division, and Director of the Local Administration Division at the Ministry of Government Administration and Home Affairs.

    Known for his down-to-earth and unpretentious manner and a strong sense of humor, Lee enjoys deep trust among his subordinates. Since 2007 he has served as Deputy Governor of North Jeolla Province and holds the record for the longest-serving deputy governor.

    He was appointed the 7th Director of the National Archives in 2010, and the following year served as Vice Minister at the Ministry of Public Safety and Security.
