Professor Yu-sung Kim of the Department of Civil Engineering at Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has been elected president of the Jeonbuk Chapter of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers.

Professor Kim was inaugurated as the 15th president by unanimous vote of the members at the 31st General Meeting of the Jeonbuk Chapter of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers held on March 7.

In his inaugural address, President Kim said, 'I feel the weight of responsibility and am concerned about how to uphold the achievements and traditions of the distinguished former presidents,' and added, 'We will establish an integrated cooperative system among industry, academia, and government to create opportunities for mutual growth through commissioned research and other initiatives.'
