Nine departments and units that achieved the university’s top performances during 2012 were selected and received awards at a ceremony on March 6.
In this evaluation, three units at the University Headquarters — the Employment Support Headquarters, the Division of Planning and Coordination, and the Academic Management Division — three colleges — the College of Engineering, the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and the College of Arts — and two affiliated facilities, Health Services and the University Museum, were selected as outstanding units. The Division of Academic Affairs received high marks in the improvement category.
This evaluation of outstanding departments and units was conducted using the BSC (Balanced ScoreCard) evaluation system, which the university introduced in 2009 as the first national university to do so, to improve customer satisfaction and achieve performance aligned with the organization’s mission and vision.
Targets were set for each indicator according to the nature of each unit’s work, and achievement against those targets was evaluated. The system has played a major role in improving the university’s overall competitiveness.
The Employment Support Headquarters, selected as an outstanding department by the University Headquarters, received high marks for improving employment rates, satisfaction with employment programs, and the performance of employment clubs. The College of Engineering also performed very well in selecting outstanding freshmen, student satisfaction, and graduate employment rates. Among the affiliated facilities, Health Services received the top evaluation for service satisfaction among clinic users.
At the awards ceremony, President Seo Geoseok said, 'Thanks to the great efforts of our staff over the past year, the university has been able to grow into a prestigious institution representing the Republic of Korea,' and added, 'Let us work even harder this year to build on last year’s achievements and help the university soar to greater heights.'
