Jeonbuk National University (JBNU) has appointed eight new faculty members to enhance students' educational and research competitiveness and to improve the quality of university teaching.
JBNU held an appointment certificate presentation ceremony for the new faculty on the morning of March 4, attended by President Seo Geo-seok and other senior administrative faculty members from the university headquarters.
The newly appointed faculty include Professor Jeon Gwang-ho (The School of International Studies, College of Social Science), who has outstanding research capabilities in international politics, and Associate Professor Kim Hwan-il (Career Support Headquarters), an expert in personnel and organizational studies.
Also appointed were Assistant Professor Im Dong-gwon (BIN Convergence Engineering), an expert in BT, IT, and NT; Assistant Professor Lee Eun-jung (Medical School), a specialist in otolaryngology focusing on ear disorders; Assistant Professor Kang Jae-wook (Graduate School of Flexible Pinted Electronics), who has demonstrated outstanding research in the field of flexible transparent electrodes; Assistant Professor So Eun-seon (Department of Nursing), who has conducted outstanding research in community nursing; Assistant Professor Lee Ji-hoon (Division of Electronic Engineering), an expert in electronic engineering; and Assistant Professor Jeong Sang-yun (Department of Molecular Biology), whose research achievements in animal cell biology are outstanding. These distinguished faculty members are expected to play a significant role in strengthening educational and research competitiveness.
On the day, President Seo Geo-seok said, "I sincerely welcome the new faculty who have joined the JBNU family," and added, "I hope they will serve as a driving force in enhancing students' educational competitiveness and research competitiveness, thereby raising the overall competitiveness of the university."
