“I am reassured to know that the university my child will attend for four years has such excellent facilities and an outstanding educational system.”
On the afternoon of February 28, when JBNU's entrance ceremony was held, new students' parents also gathered at the JBNU Academic & Cultural Center, separate from the students. This was the 'New Student Parents' University Visit Day', an event in which the university invited parents to introduce their children's campus life, academic schedule, and the university's vision.
Each year, JBNU invites parents separately from the entrance ceremony to campus for informational sessions and campus tours. By showing parents the university their children will attend without omission, the event greatly assists students and parents in jointly planning an appropriate university experience and career path.
Presentations on the university's major academic systems and student support programs drew a positive response from parents.
After the presentations, parents toured the campus, visiting key facilities such as the state-of-the-art electronic library, residence halls, and the University Museum, and saw the places where their children will live.
In particular, after the campus tour, parents visited each college and held meetings with deans and department chairs. These sessions provided additional opportunities to strengthen mutual trust between the university and parents.
A parent whose child was admitted to the College of Engineering said, "I had been very curious about what kind of educational system the university my child will attend has and what its facilities and scale are, but through this event I was impressed that JBNU is an excellent university with well-established education and employment support." The parent added, "I hope the university will make further efforts so our children can enjoy university life in even better conditions."
Another parent said, "At today's event, we were able to visit the department our child will attend and hear in detail what is taught and what the department's characteristics are, which I think will be a great help in setting career paths," adding, "We were deeply moved that JBNU invited parents to campus and arranged this informational session."
