The university's alumni association, whose members are employed at Hyundai Heavy Industries' Ulsan Plant (President Seo Deok-won), donated KRW 50 million to support the development of their alma mater.

The fund was collected monthly by President Seo Deok-won and some 50 alumni employed at the plant, with the aim of creating a better environment in which junior students can study.

Mr. Seo said, "Alumni feel great pride that our alma mater has recently regained the stature it held in the 1970s–80s and is developing into a university representing the Republic of Korea. Although the amount we have raised is not large, I hope it will help students who study diligently despite difficult circumstances."

He added, "Although we are usually far from our alma mater, our alumni's affection for their juniors is second to none. Through this donation, alumni will unite to contribute to the development of the university."
