Professor Young-hwa Jeong (Law School) received the Merit Award presented by the Korean Patent Attorneys Association (President Yoon Dong-ryeol).
This award is given to a researcher who has made the greatest contribution to the development of the patent attorney system at a time when demand is rising as intellectual property rights litigation, such as patent cases, surges domestically and internationally.
Professor Jeong has made significant contributions to establishing the foundations of patent attorney education and the system in Korea. Their research has been recognized for achievements such as being reflected in national policy.
Accordingly, Professor Jeong is scheduled to receive the award at the Korean Patent Attorneys Association's general meeting in Seoul on the 28th.
Professor Jeong said, "With the recent surge in domestic and international intellectual property litigation such as patent cases, competition within the industry among not only companies but also legal professionals has intensified and conflicts of interest have become severe, making the role of patent attorneys increasingly important. We will take the lead in strengthening fair and transparent standards of professional ethics in the market to address the adverse effects of specialized legal practice."
